Ford are one of the largest and most widely recognised automotive manufacturers in the world. They are based in Detroit, Michigan and their UK operations are located in Brentwood, Essex. Ford started making vans in the UK as far back as the early 20's, when the Model T was converted to become a commercial variant, the Model TT.
The Transit has to be its biggest success. Since 1965, over 6 million have been manufactured, and today, they are still partly assembled in Southampton. Back in 2002, Ford decided to piggy-back onto the Transits success, with the launch of the smaller and more compact Transit Connect.
This means Ford is capable of tackling maximum payloads of half a tonne with the compact Fiesta Van, right the way through to nearly 2.2 tonnes with the hefty Transit. All the Ford range are served by Ford's efficient Duratorq engines and come with a 3 year unlimited warranty.
Ford's stylish and compact Ford Fiesta Van is a relative newcomer to the small van sector but is already recognized as hugely competitive for load length, width and capacity. It has a wide, high-opening tailgate and low-loading height and is great fun to drive. The cabin has been carefully designed, with plenty of room for driver and passenger to travel in comfort. Super-frugal, stylish and 'green' the new Fiesta Van ECOnetic shows form can exist with function, offering a lowered suspension, low rolling resistance tyres and a specially calibrated Duratorq 1.6-litre TDCi for an ultra-low 98g/km CO2 and a combined 76.4mpg.
